Also, the vaccine only applies to the Groups A, C, Y and W-135 of the meningococcal bacteria. The vaccine will not protect against Group B. The vaccine is recommended for persons who:
Are age two (2) or older
Are susceptible to certain conditions that may cause meningococcal meningitis
Are living in, working in, or visiting an area where there is a high incidence of meningococcal infection
Are exposed to areas where the epidemic is occurring and the cases are due to Groups A, C, Y, and W-135
Are military recruits
Have no spleen

Questions To Ask Your Doctor About Meningococcal Meningitis
Is it contagious?
Can a person who was just "in the room" contract meningococcal meningitis?
Is there any permanent damage?
How long until the condition goes away?
Can a person get meningococcal meningitis again?

This was one of the most, different videos I've ever made. For everything so far, there was an easy way to prevent it from happening, whether it be reporting the abuse, keepin and eye on children, keeping your car doors locked, this is one of those things that there isn't a sure way to prevent it from happening, but I still wanted to share Landan's story and to bring awareness to meningococcal in the hopes that maybe, it can make one more caregiver aware. Or it can help them know the signs of meningococcal or maybe there is anothing message in here. About how important each day is because you never know what tomorrow will bring.

  • Amazing video, thank you so much. This is the first time I've seen this & I'm bawling my eyes out. We miss our little angel Landan beyond words. Thank you for helping spread awareness for Meningococcal Meningitis.

  • What a beautiful child gone too soon. That is so scary to know your child could have a sore throat one day and be fighting for their life the next. I didn't know about this shot before. Thanks for informing everyone J.
