Agree with Cattails. Others poured out the tears all over this song, like a reverse laugh track. Unnecessary, and false. The lyrics either move you, or they don't. In this case, they probably do.

I like his voice and interpretation--Farlowe's version is melodramatic and keeps me from focusing on the lyrics

Can someone tell me the difference between this version by d'Abo and others on Youtube credited to d'Abo one (which came first, history, etc...):

@RockyG1978 this is the original released d`Abo recording of the song. He has re-recorded the song a few times which are on youtube , a couple of which are wrongly credited to Manfred Mann but they never recorded a version. He also also recorded a cod-reggae version which is best forgotten.
