The Maersk fleet is Danish. Why doesn't Denmark station one or two of its own frigates near Yemen and escort Danish-flagged cargo ships in and out of the Red Sea to prevent piracy?

@TheKrazy7 mohamed farrah aidid had a army of only 2000 strong and is made up from his famliy clan. 400-500 hundred people were wounded or killed reported by the 3 only working hospitals in the city and most were civilians. mogadishu is a built up city and it's very hard to fight for any military. it took the african union 6 years just capture 70% of the city. it took the british 20 years to colonize and when they did they could not control them.

@worldpeace365 Their must be a couple of "little" details your missing to come to the conclusion the US got their "ass kicked" In the battle of Mogadishu, taskforce ranger went in to Bakara market(a hostile city) with 160 men, everything that could go wrong did, and when the dust settled it is true that 19 us soldiers were dead. Too bad for the Sammies they suffered 1400-2000 dead militiamen without even stopping the US from completing their initial ojectives. 1:100 ratio. not bad

@jozsefkacsa U.S may have big guns but the somalis have big balls and they will take on anyone and they have nothing to lose. the last time U.S special forces went in to somalia they got their ass kicked by little boys. 20 dead, 70 wounded and 3 helicopters shot down in 24 hours. it took 20 years for britain to colonies these people.
