*Endangered Species* Neither a pig or an anteater, tapirs are more closely related to rhinos and horses. In fact, they are primitive mammals and have lived for millions of years virtually unchanged. Fossil evidence indicates tapirs even roamed Southern California about 10,000 years ago and may confirm the theory of an ancient supercontinent.
These two species of tapirs were filmed at the San Diego Zoo.
