This is a clip from the very rare film "Last Summer." In the background you can hear the songs "Magnetic Mama" and "Temptation, Lust and Laziness." These songs were written by Neil Simon and recorded by various combinations of the members of The Band, including Rick Danko, Richard Manuel, Garth Hudson and Levon Helm. The soundtrack is nearly impossible to find and features several psychedelic rock bands of the 60s in addition to most of the members of The Band. A very young Bruce Davison can be seen here (Senator Kelly from the X-Men movies.)
@rem2267 The film was shown on TCM a few days ago. Like you I had not seen it in quite a few years. Needless to say, it was a much different experience watching the movie as an adult compared to being an adolescent when I first saw it. Barbara Hershey, Richard Thomas, and Bruce Davison all went on to future successful roles. Catherine Burns who was nominated for an Academy award for her role in the movie switched from acting to writing.

Not a particle of rhythm from any of the five of them. Sad.
Great flick, tho. I'd kill to see it in its entirety some day. Only time I saw it I was about 12 years old. I live in hope.
p.s.: I LOVE Bruce Davison!!!

I go looking for videos of The Band and wind up with one of a beautiful young Barbara Hershey. Not a bad deal.
