  • What a useless critique Sophie Rochester has produced.

First why does she give away so much of the plot? Is is because she is to stupid to think of anything original to say.

Second she does not get the plot quite right. What she gives you are half truths about the plot with some details that are somewhat misleading. As she did not bother to read the books properly.

    Typical useless journalist.

  • This is supposed to be a review yet no mention of the quality of the English translations! How competent are they?

  • @timothymn2 Well said. I could see your point of view if someone wants to see a review you want to know if it is a good book to read not hear all about it. I am about to read the first book and I don't want someone to tell me the book even if it is a bunch of tarter. Not to sound rude or anything but maybe she should learn some more about books.

  • umm when she saids " they team up and become a super team." I'm like, ahhh thats not quite what its about. yes they do team up but the way she said it made it sound like there super buddies.

  • Here's a tip for english speaking people on how to say the name "MIkael" in swedish: You start off with saying "Me dull". Be sure to use your oxford pronounciation! Emphasize the word "me". Babytalk, Who's dull? ME dull! Now you have to switch the letter d in "dull" to c, and say the word "cull"( maybe "cull" is an actual word in english?). Now, the only thing you have to do is try to get the "L"sound thin by not curving your tounge. This is how most swedes say the name Mikael.

  • did they even read the book before making the cover?.... Salander have a dragon tattoo from the top of her back down to her butt... not a crappy little thing on the shoulder...

  • @gentleradical Stieg´s home is the north of sweden, arctic circle - the opposite of global urban culture of Stockholm. His parents were merely 17 when he was born so they placed him by maternal grandparents who shaped & brought up young stieg. As his grandparents he too became communist until the end of his life

1st book - criminal mystery in a closed room

    2nd - classic detective story

    3rd - political thriller

but the powerful character of Lisbet shapes all of them

    consider the movies

  • @KalleSacanaBlomkvist No I did not visit Sweden. I already knew that Sweden is a wonderful, relatively safe, country and its people are special because I've made many Swedish friends online since 1996, so the plot of the book gave me no bad impressions at all. I still haven't read the third.. I'm saving it for later as it's the last..something to look forward to.

  • @gentleradical reading a millenium trylogy is an interesting entry into Sweden :) You really could get the wrong idea of a society where middle aged lawyers take advantage of drug addicts and corrupt former intelligence officers kill people at will :))

it is not that bad. HOwever, all the motifs in the book are based on true events but they were very rare and occasional

and did you visit sweden in the meantime?

  • @HarukaChoEmi Not according to the cross-eyed skank in video.

  • @SirRunk Mikael Blomkvist

  • I had decided to boycott rape/murder books and realized that the whole bag of books someone gave me had to be boycotted. At the bottom of the bag was the Tattoo book which on the back referred to a missing girl. I was desperate for something to read and I also wanted to visit Sweden, so I broke my boycott. I had never heard of the trilogy, so it had nothing to do with hype. I just loved it for the characters and plot..and the writing.
