maybe power plants cant stop working for 1 hour. BUT if we turn off our lights, the power plants will not produce as much energy. And at least its a first step in the right direction.

baharbbbb let you know, but didn't as a reply. The number 60 reflects the one hour (60 minutes) we should commit to this cause. It's only one hour of our life. We are so spoiled by technology with our PC/MAC's, iPods, Cell Phones, Microwave ovens, etc that we find it an inconvenience to be without any of them for one minute. It's time we do and humble ourselves and give back to the Earth.

Earth Hour is dangerous because:
Giving people hope in a false Messiah like Al Gore is more dangerous than telling them the truth. Earth Hour does nothing other than getting people together to wave their fist at a monster they cannot defeat. It guides their efforts into pointless pursuits instead of inspiring them to do something useful.
Millions turned off their lights.
Nobody bought shares in Hydrogen vehicles.
Why, because they though they were doing something effective for an hour.

It's people with attitudes like yours that nothing ever gets accomplished , no matter how hard someone tries to make this world a better place to live or to help ensure our future , theres always people who think that it won't make any difference , and it's that exact attitude which ensures that nothing ever gets done !
