Just a little thing I whipped up using perl, POVRay and Blaze Media Pro (if anyone can suggest an open source alternative to this, let me know!). Basically, it's a short and crappy animation that demonstrates "hey, I can make this work!".

Admittedly, this probably looks like crap because of the MPEG encoding on top of whatever special codec YouTube uses. The original doesn't look half bad though, and would probably look decent if I antialiased the thing...

  • POVray is tricky, even more when you're writing perl to output POV source.

The encoding is utter utter arse, and I've since lost the original files.

  • it looks very beutiful. I never seem to be able to get whats in my head expressed as povray source.

mind you, the encoding is crap, but I can tell that there is something very pretty underneath all that mess.
