I am 51 and Gary was always my favourite ... one hell of a voice ... anybody criticizing this guy is messed up and does not understand the guy's greatness ... he's an icon

Yes he can't sing like he used to, but he can't help it. His vocal cords have loosened up and the framework therefore the cartilages responsible for vocal fold movement are less mobile, something that happens to everyone as they age. I, however, still think he has a decent voice

for a man almost 70 garys looks and sounds great .

excuse me can they just play the older version that we loved ?????????

He sounds great for his age and some of these young entertainers need to listen and learn something. I always loved him and the Union Gap.

He's almost 70 years old and people are criticizing....he still sounds great. Today, they cannot sing at 20 years old. What' s their excuse? He looks great and sounds great!

@xvawz25y I get exactly what you're saying. First, he's not a little older. He's almost forty years older. That's more then just a little. When I saw him I had a great time also but that's not what we were discussing. You said he sounded the same and I said he was still great but didn't. Now that you agree with me the discussion can end.

@xvawz25y and a big sorry right back. Yes I've seen him. He sounds great but he can't hit the notes as smoothly or as high as he used to. No big deal. It happens as a person gets older. I was not putting him down. I think he's great, but no, he doesn't sound the same as when he was young.
-
@lasktguy sorry he still is have you gone to see him in the last year or so if not go and see him before you put him down.

Anyone who's interested in hearing an entertaining and in-depth interview with my friend's uncle, Gary "Mutha" Withem of Gary Puckett & the Union Gap should come check it out on iTunes (keywords = Mutha Withem). Enjoy! :-)

@uranorexic let's be honest. He was a great singer and is still one but yes, you can hear the difference from his voice now and back then. I'm not saying he's bad. He's still teriffic but there's no denying age has changed his voice a bit.

how old is he here
