Written in 1914. "They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

    Beautifully spoken.

    But what a shame that the reader falls into the familiar trap, saying, "They shall not grow old . . . " when Binyon's original, more moving words, are, "They shall grow not old . . . "

    If you're gonna do it, do it right!

  • @renard801 I'm sorry about that. There a more common and worse mistake in the next line though which should read "nor the years contemn", meaning disdain, not "condemn".
