Ever have one of those days when nothing seems to work? Check out Mr. Shredd's favorite '80's band, Mondo Vita, as they deal with one of those days!

  • We have the vinyl album. Next time Mr. Shredd or myself are digitizing vinyl, I'll throw that one on.

  • Fun group! I used to see them play frequently at a club in the U-District, Seattle in the early '80s. Still have their album, "Fins de Paris" which this song is on. I thought they made a video for "Baxley's Holiday" too?

  • If there was a Baxley's Holiday video, it was made when Mark had a band called The Features, which had future Mondo Vita guys. That's when that song was first performed. There was a video for Mondo Vita's "Ach Du Lieber," but I don't think it ever saw the light of day.

  • RIGHT ON! LOVED these guys! Between Heart, Robert Cray and Soundgarden/Alice et. al. Monda & The Allies carved out a nice little niche and they were GREAT! Mondo was one of the most creative/ inventive, original bands I've ever seen. Can't count how many shows I caught. ach Du Lieber, Lucielle Ball is Dead etc. Hillarious and fun! They shared my love of Watney's on tap, I always ordered pitchers for the band, but if they ordered one first they'd always wave me over to share! Thanks for sharing!

  • @czshredd Does anyone have an audio copy of "Ach Du Lieber" they could post? It's nowhere to be found, apparently

  • I particularly enjoyed jamming myself into the dishwasher. That was fun. The whole thing was shot in the Mondo House, where three of us lived. The last shot, right before the building comes down, was in the basement practice room.

  • The car on the cover of Fins de Paris belonged to my brother's friend. I think we (my friend and I) went to virtually every show.

  • And before the Features there was Uncle Cookie.

  • My sisters and I were big fans. I have the Fins de Paris tape too AND a t-shirt. They were so much fun - we followed them all over Seattle. Good times. I still sing Idiot Behind the Wheel when I'm driving.

  • oh, wow.

Cool to see something from my college days. I still have my copy of the Fins de Paris album, with the little logo of a deaf cat holding a horn to it's ear.

  • Interesting! Thanks for that info. They sure were a lot of fun!
