-
@TovarichArkady Army Cadet drill is sick. ATC drill is shit
-
@ djdj165 there pretty much the same but there's no full auto
-
Hm... didn't know we could fire the L85 A2 in the ATC, only the L98A2.
-
Ive shouldered a dummy when in prone of the A2 version and its so uncomfortable, just me i guess.
-
No helmets on the range? Bad drills boys. Safety is paramount. Range staff should know better!

We have these at my school, but the Staff Sergeant always refers to them as SA80s. Is there a difference?

@USAisthebest1000
SA80 is the family - "Small Arms for the 1980s" (yeah we're nice and up to date), covers a bunch of weapons. The A1 got slated in the press, so we handed it over to Heckler and Koch who tweaked things, whacked some red paint on a few bits and lo, the A2 was born.
That's my understanding at any rate, keeping it vague to avoid Opinionated Orville the YouTube User coming along and telling me how wrong all that is.

i want to join the army cadets but my parent disagrees entirely with the idea of the army and shooting people. She now thinks that im getting the idea that war is fun and that i am getting off my games. I tried explaining to her that although you do train in army skills thats not the only thing you do but shes not listening. Does any1 hav any advice?

@JesusDeputy The opportunities you get for Adventure Training (skiing, sailing, hiking etc.), leadership courses, the fact that you've joined a recognised youth organisation, you can do your Duke of Edinburgh's Award - all that looks fantastic on a CV. That's me assuming the Army Cadets are anything like the Air Training Corps of course. Or the University Officer Training Corps. My knowledge of the Army Cadets is pretty much "their drill is crap." But then so is the OTC's :P
