i think you should go ahead and do it. there are so many women on youtube and all over the net for information to get started. im still transitioning(9 months) and i have to tell you its hard but very well worth it. i keep thinking i want to perm it but then i think about how much time and energy i have invested in this "project"( for lack of better words) and i get back on track. the outcome will be well worth it.

whats the pt of going back and forth from and to perms? your hair could get longer if you wanted it to if you stopped perms completely...
