"The classic sounds that are tongue-tip sounds are things like L, D, Z. Those all require contact between the tip of the tongue and the teeth." Doctor Stewart, Otorhinolaryngologist-in-chief at New York Presbyterian Hospital, explains how children with tongue tie have trouble pronouncing certain sounds correctly.

  • my grandson is tongue tied. He is now 17 and speaks perfectly normal, When he was learning to talk he could not pronounce his L's. or T's. It sounded cute but as he got older, he somehow learned to pronounce the words correctly and he is still tongue tied. One good thing about it, they cant stick their tongues out at you.

  • This kid can stick his tongue out farther than I can. I can't even lift my tongue it just stays in one spot and it's hard to understand me.
