On today's episode of the Rock it Out! Blog, my brother, DJ JoJoe, and I review the new Korn album, The Path Of Totality, from Roadrunner Records. The album is a mix of metal and dubstep music and incorporates electronic artists like Skrillex, Datsik, Downlink, Noisia and more.

The album, to me, doesn't work. Primarily because Korn is a band that, only last year, released an album that they promoted as getting back to their roots. Now they've released an album that, while some tracks stand out, falls flat due to the fact that many tracks feature Jonathan Davis singing on top of a dubstep beat while the band seems mostly absent.

What are your thoughts on the album? Leave a text or video response.

  • I definitely agree with this dude. The only tracks that really fused dubstep and metal were the ones with Skrillex on them. Even though Skrillex jumped from the emo/post-hardcore bandwagon to dubstep, he does make some catchy shit. And I agree that this was purely Jonathan Davis's ideas and project and that all the other members of Korn just went along with it. I won't use the term "sell out", but I think it's a shame that Jonathan jumped on the dubstep wagon just because it's popular

  • @raisebarhere ..... and mow ur a "FUCKIN FAGGGGOT !!"

  • Can you really blame korn for jumping on the dubstep band wagon? they made 2 albums just for their fans based on their initial albums... and ended up with one of their lowest selling albums. In the end they have to make money.

  • i love the album

  • Korn was actually in every song except tension. TRUE FACTS.

  • @raisebarhere lmao

  • @ElementRider42 If I remember correctly Ben's continuing BB by himself with 3 new guys and 2 of them (I think the drummer and guitarist, again not a BB fan) are forming a new band.

  • @Jok3risation I cringed when I read "More better"

  • Hey sami, did you ever listen to the album natural selection by fuel? if you did what do you think about it?

  • @5000cam isnt just ben left? if he makes more stuff, it wont be right
