  • Dude I have a re necked 1931 Duolian and style O, and a VS Delphi. This is the US where we have lots of those type guitars. I think it sounds a bit twangy. I hear allot of those gutiars. I know Don Young the president of National. He worked for Ed Dopera who invented the damn things. Finding a luthier who really knows how to work on them is hard. Ultimately is what it sounds like for you. If you like its sound. Then thats great. I am going to buy on more new Triolian W series myself from NRP

  • @BoyCary

Cool for you. I would not give a dime for a Delphi or a Triolian w serie ( i both tried). All vintage National don't sound good. This one is great and the Duolian i owned and sold last December, too. May be the camera mic makes this guitar sound twangy. Actually, after this video, the guitar has been brought to Mike Lewis cos ' something was wrong with the neck. ( the 12 th fret was sounding " weird"). Now, it is great!

  • It looks really great. But the sound is to twangy. It needs a neck set by National Resophonic or the cat from Fine Guitars of France.

  • @BoyCary

This Duolian is not twangy at all. The last thing it needs is National Corp.

Mike is a friend of mine and worked on this guitar.

  • Hey aberr,

this is a duolian bought at francois charle's vintage guitar shop, in paris. he paid 3100 euros for that mint duolian with a great sound.

  • Super cool guitar dude. It needs to be sent to National Resophonic for a neck set. Maybe even a new hot rod cone. Save the old one. That's what I did on my 31 Duolian. I always have National go over any vintage gutiar I buy. Cheers, Cary

  • Yeah those old Nationals almost always have neck probems. I bought my first 1940 style O back in 1983 for $450.00 It had buzzing strings. I used pieces of cardboard under the bridge to raise the strings, and stoped the buzzing. I got a bullet hole Supro steel body for $300 in 79. It was my first National. No finish on it but it sounded great. Man I long for the old days when you could get those old Nationals much cheaper. Now days people want like $2,000 for an unplayable wall hanger, LOL

  • That is nice for sure!!
