According to the book, Super 62 and a few Little Birds covered the crash site, but it seems that they didn't use miniguns. The book just says that Little Bird copilots were shooting M16's into the crowd. It does seem strange that they wouldn't use miniguns; they knew where all the friendlies were (Durant, his copilot, and at least one crew chief were alive in the Black Hawk).
May Randy Shugart, Gary Gordon, Ray Frank, Tommy Field, and Bill Cleveland rest in peace.

Could have sent the little birds to shoot at the crowd. Maybe the mini-gun on the Black Hawk that dropped off them 2.

@1xXitachiXx1 From what I read in the book, much of the construction was do-it-yourself, run-down, and overall shoddy craftsmanship. Attempting to land on a building would probably just pancake it.
i wonder if it's feasible to land on top of one of the buildings,

If you mean landing to extract Shughart, Gordon and Durant, it would probably have been possible (there was a small landing zone nearby), but it is doubtful they would have been able to take off again. The volume of enemy fire was just too great.
Super 6-2 did get shot down but they crash-landed in the safe area of the city, by the docks and were picked up by a Humvee very quickly
