FDR knew they were coming. He knew about the rape of nanking and the concetration camps in europe. While Pearl Harbor may have been avoided, US entry into the war couldn't. What would you have done? Strike first or let them really piss you off?

One of Admiral Kimmels Letters was at a Texas Air Museum Cavvannaugh Air Museum just outside Dallas it was taken away from there know one knows why.

I agree. Washington knew a lot more than Hawaii was ever told in the days leading up to the attack unfortunately. And who knows how many lives would have been saved had he been given all the information.
