Footage of a rhino capture in late sixties and early seventies. Here a rhino is caught with a lariat to prevent it from falling into a deep gully after it has been darted. The techniques were new, and involved darting from a helicopter with super-potent morphine-like drugs and then transporting the animals to custom-built bomas. After an acclimatization, they were transferred to national parks.
