  • I love this news open. This is so much better than the 2010 opens in my hometown. I really love this open for some reason. . . KCNC seems to have talented creative minds. I usually like their on-air look.

  • I remember Bob Palmer and Bill Stuart working alongside each other at the 10PM time at KCNC News 4 back then as well as Larry Green and Les Shaprio. That was before he worked with Stephanie Riggs at the 5PM spot.

  • By the way, love the eerily clear audio here, excluding the buzz.

  • I've started to think that too. My impression of that trying to be somber came from the fact that TV news tends to play somber music when talking about things relating to huge tragedies like the OKC bombing.

  • WizardDuck: Somber? I think their intent was to be more serious than anything.

  • Oh wait, I went and watched the '95 opens and noticed the sweeping sounds (for the first time). Stupid me.

  • 0:58 Was that the most somber cut of Image X they could find? It doesn't fit at all.

And why did they add those sweeping noises to the open? It ruins it.

  • Where are they now?

    1) Bob Palmer died last year

    2) Stephanie Riggs is a host on VISTATV alongside fellow reporter Erica Golding (Broncos Cheerleader).

    3) Larry Green retired to Alabama as did Bill Stuart (10pm and new 5pm anchor)

    4) Les Shapiro works at Mile High Sports where former Broncos cheerleader Lauren Gardner used to be.
