I love this place as it is our new family happy place... however we end up spending half the time picking up peoples rubbish... What do you mean by it is VERY different to sections near upper colo.....?

Most rivers spend 95 - 99% of the time at base flow. But base flow is no indication of what the river is like during flood which can often exceed imagination. The Colo at 10-m is utterly mind blowing.

This bridge has survived many floods, due to its robust design--you'll see similar bridges all round Australia.

The Colo Gorge is upstream of Upper Colo. Downstream of Upper Colo the Gorge widens into a broader valley, and the river changes its characteristics, accordingly. Check maps and/or Google Earth to see what I mean.
