"Demi." Nick says, pulling my hand away from my face.
"Huh?" I say, looking up at him.
"Hungry? Stop biting your nails, the appetizers are here." He laughed.
"Oh, right. Sorry. bad habit!" I said while watching the waiters put appetizers on the table. mini sandwiches stuffed with a bunch of crap, and theres rice and hot wings and just so much food. They call this appetizers? This looks like a 10-course meal to me. I sat there, sipping on the cup of water that restaurant was obligated to give to everyone. I looked across from me and was relieved to see that Joe and his girlfriend had finally stopped sucking face. Instead he was stuffing his face with hot wings. I looked around. Everyone was stuffing their face. I look down and see nothing. Just a plain white empty plate.
"Have some appetizer, Demi" Kevin spoke from the other side of the table.
""Uh, I'm a vegetarian. Can't." I smiled and thanked the heavens that they dropped the subject. I face foward again and there I catch Joe's eyes glued to me. Then my plate. Then back at me. I looked away, knowing what he was thinking. I don't want to face that. No way in hell.
