God bless you for posting this video and responding to the comments of the people.
Pray for those who disagree with the teachings of the Church, picking and choosing what to believe in.

@dinoditching It is interesting to note that the people who promulgate these teachings are the very people who are unmarried and therefore never going to have the responsibility of having children in these difficult times. It is all very well to preach about x when you are exempted from x! I can see no reason why using artificial contraception is intrinsically evil?! Its absurd.

In the 1960s the the Church's best moral theologians were called together by the Pope in order to discuss the question of artificial contraception. These moral theologians overwhelmingly decided that artificial contraception isn't intrinsically evil.
Now, I have two questions: if the moral status of artificial contraception is unambiguous, why did the Pope call a council of theologians to discuss whether it was right or wrong? And, why call a council if you are going to ignore their findings?

@ThatsLifeCOot I have read all the texts that you mentioned and I disagree with them for theological and philosophical reasons. If I am supposed to make a submission of my intellect and will to a teaching that has not been taught by an exercise of the extraordinary, infallible Magisterium, then I refuse to accept this teaching. The Church has been wrong before- for instance, the Papal Inquisition. Do you think it was right for the Pope to persecute and kill Cathars?

@bayreuth79 Why?If you didnt know there were a questions about contraceptions (meaning against life) and the Catholic Church researches everything to provide answers. This of course is done so no question is left unanswered and to prove whether anything is right or wrong without a doubt. You read all these "moral theologians", but have you ever read why the Catholic church condemns artificial contraception? Read Pope Pius XI's Casti Connubi, Pope Paul VI's Humanae vitae or read Genesis 38:4-12

@dinoditching Sniffing cocaine isn't a sin, there's no reason it would be, drinking alcohol is actually said to be good in the bible. Why would any other drug be different? Jesus turns water into wine (a drug) for others to driink, I doubt they were using it to clean their floors. :)

@dinoditching I have looked at my sources and it is uncontroversial. Most of the moral theologians who were asked to look at this by the Pope determined that using artificial contraception doesn't equal mortal sin. If the Church's teaching against the use of artificial contraception belongs to immutable truth, why is it that the Pope called a council of moral theologians to examine the question of artificial contraception? Seriously, I think that's a good question. Why?
Hmmm. The story that Fr Corapi tells in this video is either hugely exaggerated or is an outright lie. "... the church took two hours to empty". Come on! I'm sorry, but if artificial contraceptives are so evil why is it that the majority of Catholic moral theologians asked to address this issue by the Pope in the 1960s considered to be not immoral? Fr Corapi can bluster all he wants; had he been alive a few hundred years ago he would probably have burned heretics as well on church say so.

@bayreuth79
majority? have you verified your sources? and by the way, if ever comes a day that most of the moral theologians would disagree to the doctrine, it won't mean a thing. Eternal truth is not determined thru a democratic vote. The truth is what is , immutable, unchanging. and the Truth is not a something, it is a somebody and His name is Jesus Christ.

@dinoditching And how do you know that the Pope is correct about artificial contraception? I agree that the truth is not decided by democratic processes- of course not-; but why should I suppose that the Pope has got this right? It is not an infallible teaching; in fact, it comes under the ordinary Magisterium.

@bayreuth79 FYI The Pope by the way didnt promulgate or establish the doctrine of contraception. He only had to define what has been taught by the Church since the early Christians. During in the early Church, it has always been the teaching of the Church that contraception is intrinsically evil.Until the Lambeth conference in 1930, all Christian churches condemned birth control as sinful. Today, the Catholic Church is virtually alone in holding to this ancient belief.

there isn't one place in the bible that says birth control is a sin. so ... i disagree with that. Jesus never said it was a sin to take birth control.

@Shakeitupyes never did Jesus mentioned nor you can find anywhere in the bible that sniffing cocaine or doing drugs for that matter is a sin. yet it is a sin. never in the bible can we find the word Holy Trinity, yet we believe in the Holy Trinity.
