How hot do you have the iron when you apply the covering.
Any tips on applying the covering would be appreciated.

At the time this video was made we were not using the Extreme Tape. We have another video at our website that shows the E-Tape application and the tape is discussed in detail in the building instructions. The plane in this video is still flying in combat without the tape just the laminate. It is lighter and flies great. Some flyers choose not to use the tape for this reason.

The laminate can take more heat than the foam. Watch the foam closely. If it is shrinking or distorting in any way the iron is too hot. It is safer to start cooler and turn the heat up as you get more comfortable with the process. Start with a surface that doesn't show. Cool the iron occasionally with a wet rag or water spray bottle especially if the iron has been sitting in between pieces of laminate.

When a plane of any design crashes the weight of the wings goes forward and tends to split the wings from the back, through the middle. The shock cord as we call it ties the halves of the plane together and for as simple as it is, adds an amazing amount of durability especially when used with the other tricks we do for combat strength.
