This tune turned up on Venus Isle as Venus Reprise as a short outro with no vocals. I had this on some old audio tapes and a couple were entitled "Mountains" by the tape traders (Eric calls it a Reprise Jam here.) I talked to Tommy Taylor at the NAMM show one year and asked about this song, referring to it as Mountains and he didn't correct me. Tommy told me he really liked the song, and it would be on the next CD. It was, but in an abbreviated instrumental form. Think you'll like this one better. You can tell Eric is testing ideas in the song, and the vocal line is just gorgeous. Hope he releases it in this form someday...

Also have a different audio only posted in my folder.

  • I so envy all who were there.

  • Damn! One of the best solos from Eric that I have ever heard and it isn't even on a record. This one should remain a live song, put it on a record.

  • First time Ive ever seen him curse on stage, or curse at all!

Even thoe his still my favorite guitarist

  • My favorite song so beautiful still brings the tears...

I own that flanger its sitting right here...

  • @Wiltonibanez Looks like it was at the Bottomline in New York 1990

  • While the instrumental version of this song as released on the Venus Isle CD is regal and soaring, there is something SO COOL about this version with the vocals. I've never heard a vocal version of this that didn't have some mistakes in the solo unfortunately.

  • where was this?

  • Thank you! This is awesome

  • I've taken Eric's music to the mountains and it is truely inspiring.
