Wow it isn't the fact that they painted their faces black that is the major concern here. The fact that out of ignorance, they automatically assumed that that is the way jamaicans look is the problem. Not all jamaicans wear tie dye or have their hair dreadlocked like rastas. There is more to the jamaican culture than smoking ganja and saying yeah mon.

While you make a seemingly valid point, you ignore that fact that African Americans had a rich history before they came to the US which they were forced to forget. Moreover, blackface is the physical manifestation of racsim and to say imply that it is all around us only further affirms the argument of STRUCTURAL RACISM.
