Aww, poor kid with the knife.

Just wish there was a place to learn Systema around where I live.

awesome to see some systema at full speed... good work Mr.Lee, you demonstrate a very practice form... keep these awesome vids coming for those of us that are too far to make a class of urs :)
-
woah... you don't screw around.

@SystemaDotUS , Agreed. great wisdom. You make yourself like a phantom by your lateral movement and ability to stay out of strike range, thus avoiding the direct strike to vital organs. I work on this a lot, but you have mastered it! Awesome post. Don't be humble, you deserve great praise. (standing ovation from me.)

I'm so lucky to live in New Mexico. I could just drive over to Arizona and be trained under Kwan Lee. Of course, it'd be even better if I actually lived in Arizona =D

The economy of motion, instant reponse based on the supra cycling of the OODA Loop and fluid use of natural weapons is simply phenomenal.

Great video Mr. Lee! This video doesn't leave a doubt that Systema works!

I like the way he kicks his knife away....

haha.. the real mw2!! fo sho!
Very nice Mr Lee! I wish more Systema instructors would video their work at full speed like this. There's a tension between the training method, which is slow down, relax and increase one's sensitivity, and demonstrating that it works at full speed.
One comment: always thought that I've I really wanted to test a practitioner's knife defence (not sure I would!), I would try to maintain distance and attack the arms, rather than the head or body. Yet to see this defended against.

In real situations, a cut to the extremities would probably be a transitional movement to a more advantageous position for contact with a vital area instead of being an end in itself. Wasted movement and time are your enemies. For the receiver, it is best to put a lot of distance between you and the knife (run away or use objects) or you must close the distance to reduce the chance of re-engagements.
