Wow, You need to go to a few gaited horse shows and learn something. Gaited horses do not trot, not good ones anyway. I wouldn't want my mare to trot unless I was planning on ruining her. Try going to the twhbea website.

Good Job, Very Nice!

You guys are all too kind. You should watch the more recent videos of my horse. He was still very young in this video (less than 5 years) and his gait is much improved now. He doesn't stick his nose out so much now. He also doesn't hold his head up out of his shoulder so high anymore, unless he's racking.

Great horse, Great movement, Who is his sire? He looks like he is walking perfectly!

His sire is Gen's Living Colors out of a Pride's Generator and Bob's Beacoup Boy line. On his dam's side is Mack K's Handshaker and Merry Go Boy. He has a nice pedigree. You can view it on my website at schmick. org/horse/pedigree.shtml. I had to put a space in there so youtube wouldn't block my comment for having a link in it.

I thought he was, he is related to my mare, her grandsire is Pride's Generator and her sire is Gen's Armed And Dangerous. Pride's Generator always turns out such good horses with great natural gaits. Curious, are your horses shod? We have begun leaving our mare unshod and last time our farrier came he didn't have to trim her because she kept them trimmed. Have you had this happen?

I keep Apache shod. I have never tried him barefoot, but that is interesting. All four of his feet are natural/shell colored, but he has really nice feet, so that might work for him.

I don't know how it would work where you are, we have a lot of rock here and it seems to wear down their feet. Your in Texas right? Last time I was there I was too young to notice those types of things, lol.

We used to be in TX, but now we're in CA. It's not that rocky around here.
