On November 17, 2009 I was given the opportunity to go to an actual motion capture studio a class at the Art Institute of California - San Francisco. As a class we were divided into teams; the ninja team (I was lead and actor), the monster team, the robot team, and finally the tech team. The ninja, monster and robot teams were responsible to create a list of different moves for their character, find an actor for the MoCap session and clean up data for presentation.
Credit to George Lam for the character model. My team rigged and imported the model into MotionBuilder to work with my MoCap data. Final rendering done in Maya after the data was all cleaned up with takes blended to created a small fight scene.

Software used: Autodesk Maya 2009, Autodesk MotionBuilder 2009

Song is from the game Castle Crashers by The Behemoth

Special thanks to Phase Space for letting our class use your studio!

  • Awesome!

    Perfect Vid!

  • I think it's funny that it's motion capture but you're totally trying to act like youre in a video game...

Doesn't that like TOTALLY defeat the point?
