Music by Anthony Phillips from his album "Antiques".

I've made this arrangement for single guitar, the original piece is played on two classical guitars and a 12-string acoustic that joins near the end.
Hence my adaptation may need some polishment so I´m open to any kind of suggestions.

EDIT: There's in fact a solo version by Ant of this piece on his Archive Collection Volumen 2, I wasn't aware of this at the time of making this video.

The Atomic Sunrise Festival gig was filmed both privately and professionally as well as being 8-track sound recorded as well. Genesis were first on the bill. The private footage is - or was - owned by a guy called Adrian Everett who tried to sell it to Hit & Run Music several years ago for an extortionate amount of money allegedly. The whereabouts of the pro-shot film and soundtrack are as yet unknown. let's find the guy adrian everett quickly!

Alright, I just read that bit of info from Alan Hewitt's gig guide.

Yeah, "for an extortionate amount of money"...That Adrian guy, if he's still alive, must feel so proud of keeping custody of it in his safe. Let's find someone who can persuade the guy to do something in an altruistic manner... Oh, if only was that simple.

  • @hyperboreal From what I know, the footage is now in hands of Genesis, albeit without any sound. Even better, it was/is on YT in dubbed form, along with Bowie and Hawkwind from the same venue. There is a rumor that the real audio was from an old, discontinued bootleg shop ironically called "DISContinued Records", but the website is old, outdated, and hardly backed up, so we can only hope that it is true and the owner donates it to the band.

  • @gregandrob

"DISContinued Records"? Abandoned ghost website? I don't know, everything around it is starting to sound like an "old wives' tale" to me :D But man, if that were true...

  • Spot a glymphse of the Genesion version straight on the beginnig of the Medley "Resignation" on the 1970-1975 Box-Set Bonus CD. Originally called "Little Leaf", It is a bit like "Visions of Angels". Gabriel plays flute on it. Unfortunately without the original. vocals. there is a small hope that a live version will be included on a concert film from 1970; Genesis with Anthony in London. Maybe they will find it someday. Great playing, by the way!

  • @TheTeemaster You mean that holy grail footage really exists? Can't believe someone having that video and just keeping it to himself!

  • That song "Little Leaf" was sung by Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks together in the style

of Simon & Garfunkel while Peter was on flute. This info is part of Paul Russell's book "Play Me My Song", interview with Anthony, Mike and Tony (closing section of the book).

  • @hyperboreal I actually meant the website I got the info from. The store doesn't have a website! :)

  • Superb, as always.

  • yes

  • There's a book out by a certain Paul Russell on old Genesis Live Stuff containing a large interview with Ant, Tony and Mike. They said, "Little Leaf" was very electric and sung in unisono just by Tony & Mike. Soon after, sadly, they decided to cease main-singing...and so this song died as Genesis-piece.

  • I see, You must love Genesis with Anthony as much as I do. What a glorious sound on Trespass; what great songs, even the reminder: pacidy, let uns now make love, Shepard...what a tragedy, that so much is lost, like "Grandma" or "Jamaican Longboat". Peter and Tony, if really interested on the film, like they posted in the "Chapter" book, could buy it easily now, could'nt they? but maybe the film is lost, since...maybe we grew old enough to see it one day...
