  • Hi, how to initiate mail function?

  • @FullOFaults - this may be a result of some backend issues, either with the parameters you have in your Joomla Global configuration and/or your server.

  • Great Tutorial, um one question, how do authors create articles. PLEASE RESPOND

  • When you login do you not have or see a way to create an article?

  • thx for tut! how do i make a user only have the right to edit ONE page?

  • @wwl777 - This is outside of the scope of a comment, but for Joomla 1.5 this is going to be tough. You can make this happen with Joomla 1.6 and the new permission structure, but you'll need to read up on how that works, as there is a little learning curve on understanding how this works.

  • @QuicSite thx for the suggestion. Am now using CushyCMS to achieve this, but whenever Ill use joomla again I think I'll look into it.

  • @wwl777 - this is a good question. Joomla out of the box will not accommodate this. However there are access control components that stretch Joomla's user management tools to get this.

  • GREAT TUTORIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • As I understand it and from experience, Joomla out of the box isn't going to do a good job of allowing the authoring user to edit ONLY his/her page they created. Now there are components that extend permissions functions that I think can accomplish this for you. For what you want to accomplish you may consider Drupal :o Although it is a bit more difficult to learn than Joomla. Hope this helps.
