  • Well it's kind of his song, so I think he's entitled to do what he wants with it.

  • Not to cause an arguement, but not all artists write for their fans. Not saying it's the case for him. Some write and play for themselves and expression, for their different moods and people just happen to like it. But everyone has their opinions. Cheers.

  • yes singin to fast, rushed, better on Piano, Much like rootless treee on piano better

  • you are so right, this version feels rushed. Piano versions sound much better, but still is a great song.

  • not exactly the best performance, in my opinion. I prefer this song on piano- it gives it a much deeper feel to it. Plus he sounds kinda rushed and it doesn't sound like he's giving much emotion in this version. I love the one he did in Olympia, Paris though... quite beautiful.

  • amazing song so touching in every way love this track

  • this is beautiful xxx thank you for posting this beautiful version xxx

  • That, as a quite experienced musician myself, is an absolute lie. Transposing a song from keys to strings does not change tempo, at all, far from it. Perhaps keys have more reverb in it, and make it more legato and less staccato as with the guitar is often the case, but it most certainly does not change tempo. Tempo, in songs, on whatever instrument, is a fixed variabel. It's really up to the artist, in this case Damien, how fast or slow you play something!

    Cheers,

    Maarten.

  • He may be writing for himself but it doesn't mean he thinks everyone of his performances is perfect, he's allowed to make mistakes too.

  • Damien has said in numerous interviews that he doesn't write songs for us, he writes them for himself, and doesn't care what anyone thinks.

  • brilliant.
