Here is a demo of the Frenzel Amps HBX-AC15. Part 2 of 3

The HBX-AC15 is "INSPIRED" by a Matchless Hot Box Preamp and a 60's VOX AC15.
It has a normal channel with just gain and a cut control and the boost channel with a 3 band eq gain and master. The master is defeatable and so is the negative feedback loop.

Gear Used:
Warmoth Tele (Seymour Duncan Antiquities)
Frenzal HBX-AC15
Lopoline Cab with WGS Reaper (G12H-30 clone) and Green Beret (Greenback clone)

The recording (due to a muddy mic being off axis) is alot less bright then the amp is in person.

  • Was that the Smiths at 4:10?

  • @steampunk456 I just figured out the chords that day so it was an extremely bad attempt. But I am a massive johhny marr fan.

  • How's the low end with this amp? Also, is it possible to get anything resembling "fender clean"? thanks

  • The low end isn't that tight but not too loose either and with this cab alot of bass can be had compared to other el84 amps I've played. Not sure how close it can get to fendery with the gain very low and master high with a bit of mid cut it has less of that voxy midrange sound so I guess its closer to fendery but maybe more bassman clean then blackface deluxe.

  • I'd give 10 cents to hear a Frenzel with Carbon Composition resistors and Sozo caps.
