My grand opening! Let's start with a good'un!
Final fantasy 8 is The work of the demigods of then Squaresoft, now square-enix. The story centres around Squall Leonhart of SeeD unit, as he leads a band of mercenaries to combat an evil sorceress. Along the way, rivalries intensify, the situation becomes more complicated and a love blossoms between squall and his employer, Rinoa of the Timber owls resistance unit, rebelling against the sorceress and her powerful dictatorship.
Final Fantasy 8 is the ultimate tale of love and hate, war and peace and still epic today, even though it was released in 1998. True, the in game graphics and reused animations aren't as good as when compared to graphical masterclasses such as Metal Gear Solid 4, but something still manages to stir the heart looking at these old FMVs, which are very well made. Flawless character development, a more or less brilliant script and intuitive tactical battle system all contribute to making it one of the best loved games of my childhood.
And yes, in my opinion it IS better than Final Fantasy 7
