  • i hate you i like the titanic

  • I was on that last November I swaer it was the best time I ever had...you never get board, if you want the same thing every night go to " that English pub In benidorm" or any other Bristish pub ...so predictable

  • size doesn't matter quality does and oasis of the seas just got it's ass kicked by it's ancestors

  • i hope this ship sinks poor titanic sank now this should sink too so what if it is 5 times bigger

  • @McLarenMercedes You are absolutely right. It is the difference between a 'cruise ship' and a 'liner'. There were much nicer liners than Titanic, it is just she was involved in the tragedy. Aquitania, Normandie, France, Queen Mary (I) etc. Even the old Canberra had a certain sleek look. But people cannot sit still and need entertainment, vast quantities of food, casino's etc. All like Las Vegas. Hardly elegant. Welcome to the modern world. Yuck.

I agree. However the Queen Mary 2, is designed as an old school ocean liner (NOT a cruise ship like those floating malls in the Caribbean).

There were several dozens of ocean liners that were bigger, better, faster and more luxurious than the Titanic in the 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's.

The SS Normandie was an Art Deco masterpiece and had the largest room afloat ever made when she was made in the 30's. The interior design would look tasteful and modern even today.

  • These new big ships are certainly flashy and interesting to look at but I prefer the older ships, while not gigantic and behemoth, they have more style and far more class and certainly more soul. These ships have no heart no soul and no style at all. Big is not always better.

  • And it takes 5 times more iceberg to sink that ship !

  • What a hideous thing. Like a cheap shopping centre designed for trailer trash to get away together. All 6,000 of them. Imagine arriving in a little port and everyone getting off. Such an intimate adventure. At least the Titanic had class and glamour. This is simply frightful. More is not better; just more.
