In London, we took a trip down to one of the most legendary and active ships of the second world war The HMS Belfast. It was an incredible experience, and i highly recommend it to any history enthusiast or anyone in particular wishing to spend the day down in London, and wants something extra special to see and experience.
Launched in 1938 the light cruiser played an important role during the second world war, protecting arctic convoys from submarine and battleship attack, sinking the infamous German heavy cruiser Sharnhorst and participated and lead the east task force in operation overlord, which comprised of mainly Canadian and British assault forces. She apparently fired the first shot on the invasion during the 6th June 1944.
After the war she took numerous humanitarian work in the once shortly Japanese ruled east asian country's, and later served in the Korean war with great distinction.
Join me as i explore the legend that is the HMS Belfast.
