Henrietta Robins works out of her home and her husband Pete drives a cab to try to support her. When Pete gets a tip from one of his fellow drivers that a deal will be made by the Americans and the Soviets over pork bellies, he decides to invest in the market, but needs to $3000 to invest. Henrietta then goes to extreme lengths to get the money by dealing with first a loan shark, then a madame, then the mob and finally cattle rustlers. All this in the name of love.

muahaha, all the world is a stage and I'm the comedic lead. I wish the opening song was on youtube.

I actually prefer this movie to what's up doc, the chemestry is better between streisand and Sarrazin; it's all tom foolery of course, but it showcases Streisands really terrific comic timing and is kinda cute.
I just see "Doc" as so much posing for the camera, its more polished but less fun

The best scenes are her and the "colored" maid Loretta. And no I am not being a racist; I am quoting from the film. Sure, it is dated as all heck but those scenes and a handful of others are very, very funny. And viva Mrs. Cherry!
