This is why I always book Steve for a full-day of Zen meditation after his keynotes. Usually though, he feels better after he fires a couple of people. --Amy Aguilar, Special Asst. to Steve Jobs.

Lol Quake 3?

I hope that's an old video because that game doesn't exactly have the best graphics out there.

DirectX is actually at the frontier of gaming graphics, and has been ever since the first DirectX cards way back before it was even an open hardware standard.

You should question before you dismiss. As for OpenGL - it's great too; it's just not as convenient, nor is it as easy for a manufacturer to provide generic support for.

Now what is apple doing for gaming? 1080p missing? Check! Unsupported Drivers? Check! No gaming platform? Check!

I'd like to thank everyone who tried :)

Actually OpenGL is older than directX.

(OpenGL => Roots in SGI, in early 90's).
(DirectX => first release with windows 95)

You should check the facts before making assumptions about imagined "histories" of software that are suggested to front your position that OpenGL is somehow superior to DirectX.

Like, don't get me wrong, I like programming in OpenGL too - just because it's an open stanard; but DirectX has MILES on OpenGL with progress, corporate ties, development ease, and capabilities.
