This is quite a rare pocket tv, about 1983.. They were only available for a short period before colour pocket tvs came on to the market. It works by using dayligt to shine through the lcd panel in the flip up lid, the picture is viewed through a flat upward facing mirror.
I'll soon have one too, there's one for sale in my city. People think, analog TVs are useless. Yes, they are - except for the hobbyists, DIYers and of course: TV broadcast pirates :)))
So, who cares about analog switch off - as long as the radio regulator will not switch of MY station.

I just picked one of these up today at a yard sale for $1.00. It even came with the matching 93TA backlight unit! It appears to work perfectly, and I even picked up a low-powered UHF tv station on it!

This was probably the first widely marketed pocket-sized LCD TV to come out on the market. The LCD itself is a Citizen product and it has built-in video decoding circuitry; there are only six (iirc) leads running from the main PCB to the display. A white EL backlight was an option for this unit. I just bought one of these, and it didn't work out of the box but I refitted the LCD cable and it came right to life.
