January 6 2010 Sea Shepherd's Ady Gil, a lightweight 24m (79-foot) boat went under after being rammed off Antarctica by Shonam Maru, a ship detailed to provide security to the rest of the whaling fleet. All six crew members were rescued rescued. This situation is ludicrous. It's not as though most Japanese are even that interested in eating whale meat. It's only served in specialist restaurants and eaten by a small proportion of the population. The need for sustainable, ethical and legal fishing practices is worth fighting for. If our politicians aren't up for the fight, then more power to the conservation groups who do the job for them.

its only difficult because no one has the balls to stand up to japan except sea shepherd. the shonan turned and ranit down when the ady had the right of way(smaller, slower speed at the time, japan ship was approaching on port)

You can obviously see the SM2 turning into the Ady Gil. The boat Turns and the left (from the view of the camera) side of the boat lifts, obviously showing it is turning to the right towards the Ady Gil.
