Is your partner just like your mom or your dad. If so, this is very common. If the relationship growing up with the family of origin was good then great but if it was not, you may be repeating those same patterns and recreating all of the same dysfunction in your partnerships. Watch out for this please!! With awareness you can have choice and thus feel empowered to not repeat this.

  • i wish you were working in holland i think you are a ferry good therapist and a lovely person ,thanks for al the good info! you helpt me,

  • Is it possible that selecting a partner based on family schema has a biological/genetic/psychosocial origin rather than a type of unconcious choice?

  • my problem is i close out every man cuz i feel noone can ever break my wall n all the things that have effected me as a child with family, friends, etc n than i am closed out for so long than i go in search for someone to be find a friend not a lover but they end up a lover n they become the view of my parents n i kind of expect it cuz i never give any relasionship high expectations cuz i feel like negative things happen to me often so i just close up in a shell again

  • you're so right bc my last relationship i felt like i should help him and i gave him so many chances to make a future, just like i did the same for my parents where i always wanted to help them and their own relationships. and i realized that he was ignoring me all the time just like my parents did and didnt want to help himself. i had to help myself by dropping him like a rock ad ended a 2 year relationship. it was hard but worth it. thanx this was a wonderful video! keep them coming!

  • Great info I see this in my past relationship and with with other people around me. Now that I'm waking up I see things for what they really are. It's like a vail being removed from you face.. Very interesting. I feel that most of my life I have been sleep walking or maybe mentally dead to the truth . Peace
