I just went to his first ark, only 1/2 size, which is now docked in Cologne. I can assure you it is a great missionary tool. Hundreds of people were going through it and carefully reading the messages from the bible posted in several languages. There are many different ways to teach people about Christ and this is just one of them. I commend him and those working with him for using their time, talents, and money in a unique way of serving the Lord.
@wooowmeato Theres a time and place for everything. Thousands of people visit the ark each year and no doubt millions aroud the world have seen it through media. Were all missionaries in our daily life and certainly Johan Huibers is a missionary in his own way. This is a powerful witness to the world. On site he has set up a display of an empty tomb, which ties the flood in with Jesus. Gods work is large and mysterious. You have no idea what God can do through this. Read this link above.
@wooowmeato Genesis is the foundation of the Christian faith. Without genesis, sin, judgment, Christ, Forgives means nothing. If people can’t believe in genesis including Noah and the flood, then the wont believe in Jesus and heaven. Jesus said to Nicodemus in John 3:12 if I have told you people about earthly things and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things? God doesn’t call everyone to leave there current life and become full time missionaries.
@criskros88 While those are totally good intentions, I would think if one weighed the importance of those questions about the ark, with the importance of answering the questions of "how do i make it to heaven?" "who is Jesus" from the unevangelized world, and find the latter to be of more importance.
approximately 70,000 people die everyday without hearing the gospel of Christ, in just the 10/40 window of the world.
I think its a great witness to unbelievers. How do you know that people hearts will be stired after seeing this? The bible is seen as a mith, works like these bring the biblical acounts into a hard reality. I love this.
@wooowmeato I highly doubt you’d have any idea of the will of God. How would you know if this was Gods work or not? You wouldn’t. Its not a waste of money. Questions about noahs ark by unbelievers are prevalent, in finding excuses not to believe the bible. like “How could Noah get all the animals on the ark?”. Seeing the life sized ark can easily unlock questions, Like “now i can see how noah got the animals on the ark”.
I was responding against the journalist actually. She explained things in such a paganistic way like you said. She reeked of it and brought up about Al Gore and atheistic views, she ruined the splendor of the Arc. I just thought of a reason, its the fact that God can do it, and it may be there as a reminder to everyone. No I dont know the reason, but this would be the reason I see in it. Sorry, I was more angry at the journalist than anything else and the reason I gave went to fit her story.
'But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew NOT until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be' (Matthew 24)
