Raye continues to blame people for things she doesn't want to take resposibilty for. She started dating Michael Porter SHE married him. Kelsey was her daughter.

From January 2005 to this date Raye blames everyone and thinks the whole world is against her.

When Raye was asked about the previous drugs and arrests she blamed eveything on her marraige to Lance.

Raye needs to stop putting the blame on everyone and face the facts.

I'm not 100% sure of that. I belive Raye is just as guilty as Porter. She knew what was happening to Kelsey. She knew but did nothing to protect her little girl. Because of that, Kelsey doesn't get to grow up.

A lioness will risk her life to save her young. This, Raye Dawn Smith did not do...... and it shows in spades across little Kelsey's face in her photos. I do believe that the authorities and doctors are to blame also for a great loss...because it is plain to see that Kelsey was an extra special being. A very strong and sweet special human being.....even at the age of 2.

The truth wil never come out as to which one actually killed poor Kelsey. Either could have done it. Either had the opportunity and chance to do it. Only 3 people and God KNOW who did it. Kelsey, Raye Dawn and Mike and God. the rest of us just speculate. Even those closest to Raye Dawn and to Mike will never know whether they are telling the truth or not. They were both known to have lied to those closest to them. We do know that 1 did this and the other covered it up, so both are guilty.

This woman is not a mother but an mammal that gave birth to a child... I am a mother and from the second my son came into this world my priorities underwent an instantaneous change. My obligation was to protect, love and nurture this helpless being with every fiber of my being. It also was a privilege and honor to do so. There is no excuse or justification for this woman's actions and I am grateful that she will remain locked up for a very long time. Rest in peace little Kelsey....

Raye should be in prison for the rest of her life. She could have very well abused and murdered her daughter. She had all the oportunities to do it and blame it on someone else. Her mother left her father in the home bedfast and wouldn't give him his medicine or take him to the doctor when he had cancer. Raye Dawn was taught murder by her mother.

So, I have just spent the last two days familiarizing myself with this case. I have gone over autopsy reports, testimony, court transcripts and I have to tell you that this bitch is absolutely guilty as charged and I am not fully convinced that she didn't kill her. That being said; Kelsey was failed by a system that is supposed to look out for children that are so obviously at risk. The state and the family members played a sad game of hot potato with this childs life. I hope they all die.

If she was such a great mother why did she loose or give up custody to the grandmother in the first place, and remarry such a loser that could have been a danger to her daughter. Also, if she thought the grandmother was abusing her why didn't she do everything in her power to prove it and save her daughter. As a mother if I thought anyone was touching my child I would be fighting all day every day to do something about it. Neglectful!
