This is my version of a dry rub. I found a bunch of different recipes online and this is one of the more basic recipes I'm trying out first. I will probably try some others to see what I like, but for now this is what I'll use.

My first attempt at smoking I'm doing a brisket and a pork shoulder. So we shall see how they turn out on my next video.

Thanks for watching. I hope to learns a bunch about smoking and teach others in the process.

  • nice vid! i have a traeger pellet smoker, something you should try is injecting the meat with a meat injector.. i inject it with a mix of apple juice apple cider vin, garlic powder and soy sauce.. u can mix it up with whatever u want.. thats what BBQ is all about!!

  • @TheCoop1988 Thanks for watching. Ya I actually use a pretty basic injection for my pork and brisket. It really helps.

  • That is a great rub i add 1ts of dry mustard to mine . . nice video

  • @inwood1000 Ya it is really simple and what is great is that you can change it around to exactly how you like it. It is a good "base" rub.

  • Do you use an electric smoker or wood?

  • The ones in this video are electric, though I just bought a charcoal water smoker call the ProQ Excel 20, which is very similar to the Weber Smokey Mountain smokers.

  • good video

  • Thanks for watching. Most of what i'm doing is pretty basic and want to show others that BBQ can be pretty simple.

I'm posting another video tonight about some chicken and ribs I did. So keep a look out.

  • THANKS FOR DOING THIS- when I do purchase a smoker, it will be electric and you're doing a great job of helping beginners!

  • Thanks. I just started the smoker up just a bit ago so I will be smoking all day and putting together video for each step. Thank you for watching as always!
