Bestselling author Katie Arnoldi (CHEMICAL PINK, THE WENTWORTHS) discusses her new novel POINT DUME (The Overlook Press, May 2010) while investigating an abandoned marijuana growsite in mountains near her Point Dume, Malibu home.
Chemical Pink was a great book..singular in its subject matter & imo. it gave a great view into a unique world.
Ive lived in LA, & I agree with Arnoldi's assessment of LA's (general) transformation. It's gone from an attractive American city, to a Third World model, where u have tremendous (and isolated) wealth, surrounded by millions of poor immigrants and criminals. The native-born middle class, and the natural beauty of LA is vanishing and/or being overwhelmed. peace.
