This is intended to introduce Little Hawk to my Youtube friends.

This was the first day we met Little Hawk and his dog Honey. We went back on the second day to see him but never brought our camera. I brought my camera on the third day and we drove him to a safer area and made sure he had a hotel room to stay in that night.
He mentioned that he was on a website. We did find that website and I posted the link:

He gave me full permission to put our video footage on Youtube. Next video - Little Hawk invites us to his home in the woods.

This was our first meeting:

Little Hawk was a very polite person and always pleasant.

This entire series of videos will be dedicated to Little Hawk and all the homeless people in the world, who need a friend. Let's not forget the homeless dogs who befriend and protect their homeless owners and accompany them on the road.
I miss Little Hawk and Honey.

Little Hawk thought he was lucky to have the most beautiful home in the world - Mother Earth. He told us to just look around and see how beautiful it was.

A subscriber mentioned about the tent and goodies for the dog. We had asked him about the tent and a lady had given him a tent but he said it was far too large. (First because the tent was so large it would be seen easily and also because of the colors.)
He needed a tent that was small enough just to fit him and honey where he could keep warm and inconspicuous. We offered that and he said he decided since he was going on the road he wanted to unload the big tent and leave it with us and the way he had it was what he was going to keep for now. He seemed to be in a rush to get moving on to W. Virginia.

He always made sure Honey had tons of food. He said he would always feed his dog before himself and you could tell that was true. She had lots of treats and was well fed. We also did things we could but this isn't about what we did for him, this video is about Little Hawk and allowing people to meet him.

These video are intended to focus on Little Hawk and show he is a caring person, with a sense of responsibility for his position and the capacity to love. I was extremely impressed with his concern for his dog and how well he took care of her. He also cared about the environment and the way he left any place he stayed.

His backpack was an elaborate one that weighed about 80lbs. He knew everything he needed to survive and was excellent at doing so. He was organized and methodical about his belongings as if he never forgot military training.

When we offered to help him get somewhere safer, he accepted our invitation for a ride.

We helped him carry all his things up the hill and we put it in the trunk.

He was concerned about throwing all the garbage away and not leaving any trash behind.

Then we drove him for an hour or so up the highway, where we finally found a hotel. (It was a very nice one with a laundry facility, which he was concerned about washing his laundry.)

The videos to follow include some of these events. I will have quite a few and intend on posting them in a sequence.

    Happy new Year Rhonda.

    BillyRay, Lise, and Lil' Sophie.

  • BillyRay1952, Please give my best to Lise and Sophie and thank you for taking the time to get to know Little Hawk with me.

  • What a great video series, Rhonda.

I've seen a few homeless people who are surivors like Littlehawk and who shun living in houses for living in the woods. Unfortunately some people attack homeless people and do horrible things to them.

    Anyway, good job ;)

  • JohnBach, This is something Little Hawk had a great concern about. He said people are not as nice as they used to be on the road and he had to keep his guard up.

  • I totally agree with MissAnthropic66!

  • Jbear9, me too. :)

no sane ones would have kept you and the crazies couldn't say, those things you needed to have heard to get you through each day.

The giving back - The taking, those lessons dressed in time. No sane ones would have kept you, and that was such a crime.

  • Hey, thanks so much for these videos. They're awesome. Little Hawk was a close friend. Let me tell you, that man has seen some amazing days. He's not your average dude. I haven't seen him in years, and I got kids, so I got off the road, but we used to travel together here and there. Watching these makes me feel...I miss him and wish I could sit around the firepit, or alongside that road just one more time...there's more to say about him than there's room to write...I wish I checked in earlier...
