  • Why is it wrapped in like three blankets

  • @averyb1343 To insulate.

  • dude there is a much simpler design for a home made still that does not need as much tubing or any actual pipe ps about 160 proof nice!

  • @historybuff743 Cool. Send me a link. I hope its not an upside down lid on a pot...

  • @pat1huey i cant send alink i have no pictures but it is a crock pot to boil andwith copper tubing through the top ran through the top of a field cooler(like they have by the bench at a football game)filled with ice water to cool the steam back to liquid and ran out the bottom side to dispense ps always throw out the first and last shotglass of every batch(they are almost pure ethenol)you could use those shots as jet fuel

  • @historybuff743 I have seen someone on youtube with a similar setup. I dont know what proof he was getting. Thanks for the info.

  • NEVER use lead solder. Braze with pure copper.

  • you should switch the water inlet to the bottom for more efficiency.

  • Got about 3% water did you dump out the first ounce after that it`s ok

  • I made my first batch this weekend with my custom made still from a 4 gallon stew pot. It is not fun and games but is tedious and time consuming because you have to constantly monitor it. Keeping the coil cool is a chore as the heat is intense. Living near sea level makes you heat to 205 before alcohol steam will move through your coil.
