@myexpositions im fairly sure in any acute abdo exam you would definitely do a DRE and inguinoscrotal exam.

@myexpositions thankyou.x.

@fairycake4me in theory you would examine the genitalia, but in real life this never happens, unless the doctor believes that might be something wrong. There's a huge difference between literature and real life practice.

i have seen a few vids like this whare they say and we finish off with examination of the private parts,first what does that have to do with the stomach? and secondly would a doctor do that if you went to the doctor with upset stomach complaints? could somone please let me know.

Depends on your country kusuno. In Australia its IPPA. I thought it was really good. He talked to the patient the entire time and told him what he was going to do =) that's what you're meant to do in osces. Obviously he can't show every single detail in 5 minutes - but the way he went about it was good.
People who are asking why he didn't wear gloves - you don't wear gloves in a GIT exam unless you're touching their genitalia or doing a digital rectal exam!
This was a bad video, abdominal exam should be done IAPP - inspection, auscultation, percussion, palpation. After one palpates the abdomen, there can be abdominal sounds from the pushing.

usually when a patient has ascites, the sides of the abdomen may sound dull on percussion, but upon rolling over, the fluid if present will shift to the front of the abdomen, and the sides of the abdomen will now sound resonant on percussion
