Yay, Marluxia. Definitely the most fun of the CoM Org. members. To make this battle as hard as possible, I did it as soon as I could. Even before battling Xaldin's second set of Nobodies (in case you were wondering why I had an extra Drive Gauge in it).
First, he will always start off by putting a death counter above you. It is equal to your level and every time you get hit by Marluxia's scythe, the number drops by one. If it hits zero, you die. Since I'm at level 1, one hit kills me. The attacks that don't lower the number have enough attack power to kill you in one hit at this level. So, essentially, you aren't allowed to take any damage.
After he sets the counter, he'll instantly attack you, so use Guard immediately. You have to Guard twice, but hold off about half a second before the second Guard because Marluxia sometimes cuts through it if you don't. From what I gathered, six combo hits total and two finishers total forces Marluxia to counter. To dodge the counter, Dodge Roll when he appears again. Having a LV2 Dodge Roll is preferred, but LV1 works if you time it right.
For the first four bars or so, Marluxia will attack by sucking you in and lashing out against you. Guard this and use the Air Trample RC to damage him. It appears if you're closer to Marluxia's body than to his scythe. The other RC restores the death counter, but it's useless at level 1 since it can never go higher than your level.
After about four bars are gone, he will disappear and reappear in the center of the arena. If you smack him just as he appears there, he will stagger and you can start a combo on him. The timing for it is to attack the middle when the dark circle he disappeared into is completely gone. If you fail, he'll put a thorny barrier around your party, which follows you until it explodes. To avoid this, Dodge Roll, Quick Run, Reflect, or Guard Marluxia's upcoming attack. One, he will go into the ground and come towards you attacking. Or two, he will jump towards you and slash when he lands.
After four or five bars are remaining, he will start his DMs. One is easy to avoid, while the other is hard. The easy-to-avoid one is when he goes into the ground and spins towards you to avoid it, Guard the first hit, lock on to him, and keep running toward him. He will keep going in a circle around you until he stops and he's open for a combo.
The second one is much harder to avoid. He will appear above you and dark pillars will come up from the ground. To dodge the pillars, run straight and swivel the camera so you keep running in a circle. The pillars should all miss you. When you see Marluxia raise his arm, hit the attack button and his attack should collide with yours, giving you the guard stance. Guard twice more and combo when he's open. Repeat until he goes down.
BONUS
Sora: Drive Gauge
Donald: HP Boost
Goofy: HP Boost

@leonicle You get a nubmer equivalent to the number of levels you have. Everytime you get hit, it loses one and you get weaker. If this nubmer drops to zero OR your health depletes ocompletely, then you lose. You can recover levels by reacting with his Scythe

what's with the number above sora?

not to mention MP Hastega is completely pointless in this battle... so I have no idea why the hell you'd use Ultima

Read the description dumbass.

IT'S NOT POSSIBLE TO HAVE ULTIMA AT THIS POINT IN THE GAME. Also Hero's Crest and Decisive Pumpkin easily overpower Ultima and Fenrir. DP has Combo Boost ability making your ground combos stronger than Ultima, and Hero's crest does the same thing for air combos.
