cool! i have 3 magnavox micromatic collaro changers. i love how the tonearm taps the edge of record before it drops to play. i have a bsr, vm, and several kiddie players that have that has a 1% pitch increase.
......also, try using the scope when the record is playing and you have stylus drag which can effect speed up and down. I assume you have about 3 - 3.5 grams of tracking force there?
Now, remember that a 1% increese in pitch is very audiable and can be heard. I am rebuilding a Callaro/Micro-Matic changer right now and it's a similar situation. The scope says good, but the speed is fluttering and aiming at the high side. Found that the motor and Power Supply were both bad.
You have to remember that a strobscope is going to show only a refference based on the line voltage feeding it. If you are ussing the same power source as the player is pluged into and that source is unstable, the scope will say all is fine because both units are fluttering in sympathy.
I love these old philips changers

Don't understand why this sound. The stroboscope disc says that speed is right. The rubber (idler) wheel was changed.
